What a wonderful night for The 13th Apostle. Tonight I was joined by my friend and fellow author, Jackie Hennessey (How to Spread Sanity on a Cracker) as we kicked off the "Adult Summer Reading" program for the Tiverton Library. So many wonderful readers turned out to learn more about our books and take a signed copy home to read over the summer. I can't wait to hear from my new readers from Tiverton who were so gracious! Prudence Fallon of the Tiverton Library did a superb job setting up the event and getting it published in the Providence Journal. I am so excited... can't wait to return to my sequel! :-)
I never know when an idea is going to flood my mind. It's like walking blindfolded into a forest and never knowing when you're going to walk into a tree. Suddenly, WHAMO! Last night, while having a deep and meaningful conversation with my dear friend Barbara, it struck me. An idea/scene which must be created for my novel. I only recently discovered The 13th Apostle will be a trilogy. I am currently working on the sequel (yet untitled). I have about 105 pages or 12 chapters complete. The first 9 chapters and the final 3. Not bad. The idea that came to me last night was the scene for the final chapter of BOOK III. (yet untitled) believe it or not. I am working on it now. So, in BOOK III. the only thing that will be written so far is the final chapter. How bizarre is that? I am always amazed at how inspirations come to me, when they come to me and where they belong in my book, especially when it's out of order. I tend to be orderly, so this seems so foreign to me. It is an exciting and exhilarating process. This is the most exciting and rewarding work I have ever done. The creation process is a mystery and it's wonderful!
What a pleasure to see television broadcasting colleagues and friends Amy Carlisle DeLuca and Margie O'Brien at the GIVE & GLAM event at the NYLO Hotel in Warwick, RI. There were many glamorous television personalities at the event as well as sophisticated and stylish women from all over Rhode Island and Massachusetts who supported the benefit for Hasbro Children's Hospital. I was there promoting my novel, The 13th Apostle
What a great night! The GIVE & GLAM event was a huge success thanks to Julie Ruditzky Loffredi! So many of my Rhode Island TV broadcasting friends turned out to support the fundraiser which raised money for Hasbro Children's Hospital. Special Thanks to WJAR-TV anchor Alison Bologna who purchased a copy of my novel, The 13th Apostle and supported my work. Watch Alison every night (M-F) along with Dan Jaehnig on WJAR-TV at 7:00 p.m. Had a wonderful opportunity to promote my novel and sign copies for enthusiastic readers. :-)
Today I met some really wonderful people at a speaking engagement and book signing event in Norton, MA at EPOCH Assisted Living of Norton. It's always so nice to meet new readers and share my story with them. Their warm, welcoming reception made the event fun and lively and they made me feel right at home.
