"What Raina's Reading" - Debut Book Review Column for OnlineRI.com. This will be a semi-monthly column.  This week's selection, God Only Knows - Can You Trust Him with the Secret? by Joe Camp.  Joe Camp is the beloved creator of the BENJI movies, and has written many books since, including the NY TIMES best-selling book, The Soul of a Horse - Life Lessons From the Herd, which is one of my all time favorite books!  His latest work, God Only Knows, is a brilliant, honest and riveting memoir of how Joe saw God at work throughout his life and the lessons he now sees in some of life's successes, disappointments, and most challenging times.  

LYNDON STATE COLLEGE - (Vermont) Communications class discusses my novel, The 13th Apostle.  I also sent along a video, addressing the class and talking about my background in communications, broadcasting and writing.  

The sequel to, The 13th Apostle is in full swing.  I am very excited about what I've written so far, and it's a perfect continuation of the story in book I.  I feel it's even more intense, dramatic and shocking than the first installment.  There are scenes that I've written in book II. that I keep thinking about, because I think they are so incredibly unique and thought-provoking, that I can hardly wait to share it with all of my readers.  It's taken a while, but I would say I'm about halfway through writing the sequel...  I don't rush it, because I believe that would ruin it.  I let the story come to me through inspiration, hard work, and research...  and allow it to flow through me and onto the page.  It is truly the most amazing thing I've ever done in my life, and what I am most proud of.  I positively cannot wait to share it with you!

Thank you to Anika Denise for her article today!  In honor of Valentine's Day, Anika asked local authors to write about their favorite, all-time "romantic reads".  I was excited to write about my favorite, The Bridges of Madison County by Robert James Waller.  Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep played the leads in the movie, which was equally as enthralling.  What did I love about this book?  It's about that rare, once-in-a-lifetime love that changes you forever.
