Debbie Barchi was my neighbor growing up in North Scituate, RI. She shared her love of books with me when I was around 10 years old and read to me often. I was always fascinated with Debbie's intelligence and she is still one of the smartest people I have ever known. As a child, Debbie took me to the North Scituate Public Library to get my first library card and book. I don't remember the book, but I do remember the positive experience I had with Debbie. Here we are today, 35 years later, at a book signing for my second novel, Divine Providence, in the very same library... Today, she is the Director of the Barrington Public Library and I now write novels, which she enjoys - the highest of compliments. How cool is this?
