In 1990, a young woman from a small New England town, could never conceive how her life will change after her car breaks down on a dimly lit road one winter evening. Exiting her vehicle, to walk to the closest house to use the phone, she discovers something unfamiliar to this world beyond the tree line, the craft of an extra-terrestrial race. Investigating further out of curiosity, she is soon faced with a choice... engage with them, or run. Her choice ultimately defines her destiny. This novel will have readers naturally beginning an internal dialogue about what they believe may lie beyond earth’s atmosphere in the vastness of space, as well as whether or not they believe life exists elsewhere in the universe. And, if so, what that might look like. This journey of self-discovery explores the mysteries of the universe, the presence of intelligent life elsewhere in the cosmos, the nature of time, the human soul, physical versus spiritual realms, and how one single person can elevate the collective human consciousness here on earth. Anticipated Release Date 2023 Writing on Snowy Days...Blizzard conditions make for an ideal day to write. Housebound, warm, and cozy, it puts me in the perfect state of mind to create the soul-stirring scenes which take place in my new book about the presence of intelligent life throughout the universe.
A utopian planet or dimension, beyond earth's atmospheric borders, would look and feel different to each one of us. But what is it that lies within the perfection of such a place that is so important for the human soul to understand? This is what my main character is discovering now. The year 2021 is coming to a close, but not without showing something for it. I end the year with 119 pages of my new novel about the universe, the others we share it with, and the nature of the cosmos, written. With the closing of an entire year, and looking forward to a brand new one (2022), I like to take time to reflect on what I am most proud of, as well as the lessons learned. It really feels wonderful to have this much accomplished in my new book in just over 5 months. It's not easy writing a novel, especially with a full-time job, and other life responsibilities. But, because I love the topics and the characters I write about so much, I am driven back to my chair, to write over and over again. This is how all my work comes to be - passion. It's also interesting to see, that, on occasion, while I'm writing this book, I receive ideas and inspiration for other books, which I make sure to take notes on, and keep in a safe place for the future projects.
Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year 2022! I'm sure I'm not alone when I say this, but rainy days are fantastic for writing. While many people see a rainy day as a reason to hang around the house, do nothing, or maybe catch up on their rest, as a writer, I see the darkness and the quiet as an opportune time to sit and write non-stop for hours upon hours. Today it poured, and having the day off, with no need for make-up, hair styling, or getting dressed up, I sat at my computer, looking like a creature that shouldn't be in public, and poured my imagination out onto blank pages. This is my true happy place. Today, at the (almost) 4 month mark, I have 101 pages written in my new novel. Some writers measure their success in words, scenes, ideas, or in a completed outline. For me, when I hit a certain number of pages, I feel a true sense of accomplishment. Reaching 101 pages means (I'm guessing) I'm approximately 1/3 done with the book. Completing such a big chunk of the work in this time frame is motivational, because I'm able to see how much I've accomplished, and want nothing more than to continue working at it, until it's finished.
