The Earth Consented has been released (Memorial Day weekend 2023). Book launch event/signing date coming soon.
I expect my new science-fiction novel to be released in late May. I'm currently working with the graphic designer to pull all the critical elements and content together to produce a truly spectacular book cover, which artfully conveys the essence of the story. We're close!
It was a delight to visit the MS Dream Center of Rhode Island today, where I met and talked with everyone about my career in Comms/PR/Media Relations as well as my experience as an author of 4 novels, with another soon-to-be-released. Special thanks to Don and Marie Perna and all in attendance for such a warm welcome.
The MS Dream Center provides a dedicated resource and support facility for people diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and their caregivers. At the Center, members engage in a wide variety of interactive social and educational activities, workshops, and therapies. The MS Dream Center's goal is to bring awareness to the disease and reach out to those living with it, empowering them and offering important respite opportunities to caregivers. Today, after a year and eight months, I finally finished writing my latest novel about an extra-terrestrial race who, along with human beings, call the universe home. They are part of an ancient alien civilization whose mission is to take one human being on an interstellar journey that they hope will positively impact the whole of mankind in the future.
Whenever I write the final scene of a book, I sometimes sit there for a few minutes and ask myself if I really did just finish it, because after working so hard for so long, it's hard to believe it's actually done. Well, almost... Now on to the editing process. I have two chapters left to write, before I finish this book about extra-terrestrial life in the universe. It's hard to believe I'm this close to finishing, but I am, and it feels exhilarating.
The remaining two chapters are in the middle of the novel, oddly enough. I tend to write the chapters within my novels out of order, as the scenes come to me, much like one would put a puzzle together. This process has always worked for me. As I read scenes and chapters I write to close friends, I am bowled over by their reactions and feedback, which has been super positive. Because this is a new genre for me, I guess I wasn't sure how it would be received. To my delight, those I've read to, keep asking me for more, because they're so thoroughly enjoying the story, and want to know what happens next. Not much longer now.... I've been working on this new novel for about a year and a half, and I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Guessing -- I have around another 50 pages or so to write and I'll be wrapping up this story, which is so much more than a novel about intelligent life elsewhere in the universe. After reading the first few chapters, readers will soon realize that this book is just as much about the meaning of life on earth, and the nature of the human soul, as it is about what exists beyond earth's atmospheric borders, and who the other people of the universe are and what their civilizations are like.
I am so passionate about this book, that I find myself getting up extra-early before work to write, and writing after work and on the weekends, so I can constantly immerse myself in this intriguing story where scenes and characters teach me something every day. As of today, hitting the one-year mark of writing my new novel about the diverse extra-terrestrial life that joins us in calling the universe home. There's so much in this new work readers will not expect, so be prepared for that which you could never imagine. I'm about 2/3 complete, so planning on an early 2023 release if all goes well.
